For this project, I collaborated with Hoes veur 't Limburgs, an organization working to bring attention to the Limburgish language, which has been gradually declining over the years. Together, we developed a solution to help preserve and celebrate the dialect: an interactive story built around personal narratives shared by different people from the region.

RESEARCH & PROCESS

RESEARCH

This project ran for a total of 20 weeks. The first 10 weeks were dedicated to research, during which I used various methods including target audience interviews, expert interviews, an empathy map, and an accompanying persona. Following this, I worked together with the client to explore and evaluate different concept directions.

THE CONCEPTS

Based on my research, I developed three concepts. The first was a learning booklet for young parents to discover the Limburgish language together with their child. The second was an awareness campaign showing Limburgish speakers they don't always need to switch between dialect and Dutch. The third was a short documentary sharing personal stories to strengthen Limburgish language and culture.

I ultimately developed the third concept further, but due to time constraints the documentary evolved into an interactive story. This demonstrates how ideas can change during development.
